I'm not ok in this body.

I think if I keep saying that,
maybe the higher-ups
might hear me
and issue another.

But I'm not ok
And I won't feel guilty
for trying to escape.

And a great escape it will be.

Pull the fire from my eyes
and the spirit from these cold numb lips
Take the tendons from my knees
to see how far I bend
Rip my heart out of my chest
because we know it still beats

however lopsided.

My biceps scream in pain
from the outside
while I lay prone
and try to not roll on them
and shiver
in pain and chilled.

The kitten keeps
a watchful eye
fro...
