About me

I am a multiple subject teacher for "at-risk" teens. I really care about my students. I have been given a gift to share with people what I have learned in life and what I hope for them. Some students use what I share as their spring board, others I am still trying to break through their tough exteriors. What ever the case I never give up on them.

My wealth of life experiences have taken me from jobs at amusement parks to nuclear power plants. I still have a rich life with plenty to do, probably too much to do.

I spend a lot of time gardening: I grow veggies and fruits. but i also like to grow baby tears, dichondra, shamrock, mosses and other green beauties that I can soak up. This is actually amazing considering I live in the middle of thre desert. I spend a lot of time communicating on the Internet. My dream is to figure out how to make money opening Stores On Line and by using network marketing systems that provide a residual income. I spend a lot of time dreaming and planning and starting to take action:

When I retire from teaching, I want to own a dance studio (or chain of them). I love music and to dance to it as a form of escape. It would be cool to live out my dying days dancing making a living by coordinating performances. This is my hope: a dream- to leave a legacy where people in my community can dance the various styles they want and need to express themselves. I personally like Krumping and want to learn Hip-hop as an elderly lady.

I have a form or Rheumatoid arthritis (Sjogrens Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia that do not seem to be getting better unless I eat lots of raw vegetables and avoid sugar as much as possible. Even though I get acupunture treatments weekly, I must make exercise a main acitivity of each day I live. Dance music and dancing seem to kick in the endorphins that ne-gate the pain. But even when it hurts, I will dance anyway like a boxer take licks and keeps going with the punches.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Dancing

I know too much about ...

nothing

My parents always told me ...

if you can't say anything nice, don't say anthing at all

My childhood ambition ...

to be a dancer, and to do something with nature like be a park ranger/ tour guide (which I did the latter with environmental projects); now I just want to fulfill the former. My grandmother always told me I should have been a dancer. Everyone tells me that I have the legs for it. I was voted best dancer in 8th grade. I can follow a man who dances to most anything; I learned to follow with my Daddy. I was a cheerleading and drill team fiend...

My favorite memory ...

my first kiss, Paul said my lips were like marshmellows

Why I write ...

to get things off of my chest

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

my grandchildren

My first job ...

During the summer at age 13, I was the main caretaker babysitting a 3 year old, 2 year old and infant from 6AM to 9PM, housekeeping, ironing, folding diapers, cooking and running the feed store, shwoo! And these did not count my three younger siblings when I was at home.

My best moment ...

To recieve a standing ovation from the CCC for a book I wrote for them; to give a speech a decade later for the Mayor to volunteers who helped with a massive desert clean up for the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve trail system that I helped design

My inspiration ...

Jesus for loving me and His teachings of forgiveness, Mother Theresa for kindness, Saint Bernadette and my parents for courage and suffering, Alex Reitdyk for acceptance and my only daughter for giving me reason to live, and probably the rock star, Madonna for lyrics and rhythym that strengthens women. They all have empowered me to be me.

Relationships & Family > Relationships & Family (Other) Impact of Facebook on relationships

Face-time vs. Facebook-time Since the advent of social media, relationships are broadening. “Relationships” itself is a broad term. How many associations can one have? How do you connect with people?  With whom are you affilliated?  In relationships, we build rapport? Should you be more careful about you bond with online or offline? All of these questions are raised with social communication for any network, not just Facebook. The impact of Facebook on my relationships is for the better; I see no signs for the worse. The farther I communicate on online, the smaller an...
