I've been telling stories since I was able to talk. The idea of actually trying to write them all down didn't come around until I was 18, when an English teacher of mine encouraged me to do so.
Since then, I've had work published by Spin Magazine, Popular Woodworking and hosted by the now-defunct literary site, cherrysucker.com, as well as writing for Helium. My work may also be found on HubPages, but that's more of an interesting side project/experiment than anything else.
I also occasionally do beta reading for some friends of mine that write in the science fiction/fantasy genres. While I may not be the genre's biggest fan, I enjoy having the chance to help mold stories into something cohesive and entertaining.
As of mid-summer of 2009, I have been an active member of Helium's Editorial Advisory Board, helping to better the quality of writing found within the website.
As an avid blogger, I've been keeping a private blog on LiveJournal since 2003. I am active in several writing communities on there, one of which I have linked to. Feel free to give it a look and support it, if you wish.
Also, I have started another blog (this time, using Blogger,) in memory of a recently departed friend. This is also linked off to the side, but it's the one with 'hats' in the title. She really loved hats.
And that's about the size of it. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to peruse further if you wish.
My passion is ...
creativity, in all its form and splendor.
I know too much about ...
Tudor history than is actually useful for someone without a degree in history.
My parents always told me ...
too much coffee would stunt my growth. As to whether or not they're right, I leave strictly up to you.
My childhood ambition ...
was to become the sound-effects person for Sesamee Street. I was a noisy kid, so I figured I might as well get paid for it.
My favorite memory ...
is of my first date with my husband.
Why I write ...
it's because I'm compelled to do it.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
'Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs: A Manifesto of Low Culture' by Chuck Klosterman
My first job ...
was selling programs for Notre Dame home football games. To this day, Texas Longhorns fans scare the ever-loving snot out of me.
My best moment ...
was seeing my first article in print. Particularly since it was on glossy paper, since I'd placed my bets my first publication would be strictly pulp.
My inspiration ...
is the world around me.

Back in 1904, American psychologist G. Stanley Hall first dubbed the phase of life that spans the years of 13-19 as adolescence in a study. In the nearly 100 years since the teen years were defined as a definite developmental period, these seven-year age range has undergone many changes along with the times (EX: child labor laws, the age of majority, the 26th Amendment, etc.) but if one thing has not changed it is the teenage need to belong, which is where the clique comes into play. Yes, cliques: Those groups that are so deeply involved with their interests that could easily be ster...
