Saharra White is a senior journalism major at California State University of Northridge. White begin writing poetry while she was a young girl. During her junior year at El Camino High School White took a course in Jounrnalism. Later own she joined the staff of the high schools newspaper the King's Courier. During spring of 2002 the family relocated to Las Vegas. Saharra who was upset by the move started writing. When school started in Fall of 2002 White did what she has been told she does best write. She started writing articles for CLASS! Magazine. CLASS! was circulated to high scools within the Clark County District. White was nominated as CLASS! Magazine High School Journalists of the year for 2002-2003. Currently White is finishing up her degree at Cal State Northridge. White will be graduating in June 2007 with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Pan African Studies. She is also working on a book of poetry that will be available in February of 2007. White who is a Ted Scripps Institute Scholar and the first recipient of the Roy S. Akers Magazine Scholarship hopes to one day win a Pulitzer and a Nobel Peace prize. For now she'll be happy to pass her classes and get inducted into the journalism honor society Kappa Tau Alpha.
