About me - Anastasia Leigh

About me

Anastasia has been a journalist for almost eight years. She considers herself a feature writer, though also writes straight news stories. Anastasia first began writing for a daily newspaper in central Pennsylvania—everything from religion, education and entertainment to local politics, sports and military.

While working for the daily paper, she was the education, community life and religion editors, laying out those special sections as well as writing articles for them and also taking photos when the photographer was not available.

Today, Anastasia writes for a small weekly paper and two weekly military papers as well as being the main feature writer for all special sections within those publications.

She has begun doing research for her first novel—a historical fiction book based on the real life story of a man who was captured  in Charleston South Carolina during the Revolutionary War, placed on a prison ship and transported to St. Augustine, Florida.

Anastasia finds people to be truly interesting and well worth writing about. Her writing motto is: Everyone has a great story; they just need someone to really listen.
