Cathy Brown
Works as a Bilingual Outreach Manager for United Way's 211 Call Center. She is the editor of "Consejos de Cathy" - a weekly article answering culturally diverse questions for a Spanish Newspaper called Nuevas Raices. Cathy is on the Board of Womens Health VA., She is also on the board of WRIR 97.3 FM Radio Station. Cathy has her own radio talk show which is a community outreach show that focuses on the services offered to the community via non-profit organizations. The show title is "The Brown Bag Lunch Special" and can be heard on Wednesdays at noon via the web on WRIR.org. Cathy is a mother and grandmother. She provides training about the Hispanic Community and Acculturation classes to both the Non-Spanish Speaking and Non-English Speaking Communities. She is the recipient of the 1999 "Unsung Hero" award in "Culture" for her work with the Hispanic Community.
