I have working in the IT industry for the past 25 years and have recently semi-retired. I am now living in Koh Samui, Thailand and owns a small Scandinavian pub called Viking Bar.

During my years in the IT industry, I have been involved in the whole cycle of software development (ie from systems analysis to programming) and also in customer training and implementation. I started my career as a Programmer and ended up managing my firm for many years before retiring.

Computing has always been my love and I have never had a day where I did not enjoy going to work. However, the hard work took it toil and I am glad to be semi-retired right now.

Now, my little pub gives me equal joy as I get to meet all kinds of people from all over the world. I am based in a tourist island and almost 98% of my customers are tourists.

But I have not forsaken my first love. I still offer my skills as a consultant to friends and companies who wishes to utilize my knowledge.

I also have a new business interest which is shared by many of you. Yes, I am in the internet marketing business but I am very selective in what I do. I certainly hope to replicate my other successes into this business as well.

Working from home definitely gives us a freedom that many yearn for. However, the defination of freedom is very different with each one of us. To some, freedom is the ability to carry out our work the way we want. To others, it might be the opportunity to work the hours we choose. Again for others, there can be other explanations.
