So here I am, way over 40, (actually, just over 50, oh well), and I am at the brink of a new life. The truth is that this new life involves something that I've been doing for years, only for other people, and that is writing.
As a former teacher with the New York City Board of Education, I wrote reports, graded essays and exams and wrote notes to parents. As a Consultant for the Workforce Development component of the Southern Queens Park Association (in Queens NY of course), I was required to write reports for the administrators and the funders. College was a four year exercise in writing and grad school was no different. So even though writing is one of the things that liberate me, I realize that I've always had the power to free myself.
This is the key to our lives, we are gifted by God, and thus have the power to accomplish anything that our gift makes room for. While it has taken me a while to realize this (I never said that I was the quickest individual), I am armed with the ability to write and impact people. That is one of my gifts. Now I freelance for publications that will publish my work. I think that writing is one of the most liberating art forms on the planet. It is something that we all can learn to do effectively.

Whether you believe in God or not, you have to admit that when all hope is gone, God is who we turn to. Even the most devout unbeliever will cry out "Oh God", when an unexpected mishap strikes.
So what is hope? In the New Testament of the Bible, it is really an expectation. In our daily lives we can expect good from evil if we are looking in the right direction. God speaks to all of us daily but our lack of focu...
