A person's faith should absolutely influence a citizen's vote. If you are being true to yourself, then how could it not?
Its true that you should vote on the issues, where you stand and who comes closest to having the same stand. However, things will come up during a politician's term that are unforeseeable. Think 9/11, no one voted based on what they thought the president would do following a major terror attack. In situations like that, you have to look at a person's moral character and what guides a person in their actions. Faith is a major part of a person's character.
