Darrin Dykes is a double major seeking a BA in Political Science/English at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, and is expecting to graduate in December 2008.
Darrin returned to college in January 2006, following a fifteen year career in corporate retail, having served as a Merchandise Buyer for such regional and national chains as Academy Sports and Outdoors, Oshman's SuperSports USA (now The Sports Authority) and Conn's Appliances, Inc. Additionally, he has served as a contributing columnist for the Port Athur (TX) News and the Beaumont (TX) Enterprise.
Darrin currently works in the Sports Information Office at Lamar University, and in 2003 owned a NASCAR Busch Series race team.
It is time to begin removing our troops from Iraq. Regardless of whether we should have been there or not, the initial objective of removing Saddam Hussein has been achieved and it is time for the Iraqi leadership to start leading. They have not met agreed upon timetables nor have they been successful in providing security for Iraqis, in order to protect these citizens from the Muslim extremists who are murdering Iraqis every day.
