I am a full time traveller in the united Kingdom, and have been since 2004. I travel with my son who is now 10, whom I home educate. it has been an exciting time for us as we have both seen and learnt lots of different things.
For the past three years we have been living in Canterbury in Kent, I have been back to my last place of work to replenish the coffers a bit. Now we are back to living off what we have, which just means I will not be buying anything we really do not need.
Even though I now live this life, I was once a qualified nurse and teacher of further education. These were both areas of enjoyment to work in for me. I have been fortunate not to have to use any healthcare facilities since being on the road, even though we have had times when it could have been necessary. I tend now to use herbal medicines, in whichever form is applicable to the complaint. My diploma in Medicinal herbs has given me the confidence to make ointments and creams to help heal woulds, aches, pains and inflammations. I would never advise anyone to switch from conventional medicine to herbal, but have found it very useful with no side effects.
I love to write about things that I am interested in as well as things that can make me sit up and wonder. So my writings can be diverse, but then I would say I was an all round person anyway. I have never had anything published, but would love to get my book published, this covers our first year on the road. Being a nurse I worked on a research project and had experience interviewing and transcribing as well as writing for an academic audience.
I hope people enjoy what they read through my helium articles, as well as my blog and twitter.

As I grew up funerals did not even hit my radar until I was quiet old. When my parents went to a funeral us kids always stayed at home and, me being the youngest, remained none the wiser as to where they were going. In those days children did not attend funerals, weddings or christenings. Why? I have no idea, but it did not really matter to me that I did not go as they did not involve any of my immediate family, but someone from the extended family. Consequently I was nineteen when I attended my first funeral. I had already experienced death on more than one occasion, but had never made it...
