Hello. Thank you for the opportunity to share some of myself with you. So who am I?
I like to write. Whether or not I am a successful or even a competent writer is secondary to the experience itself. It is the act of writing, of creating that drives me.
I admit to lacking discipline in my writing, but my writing process is almost a non-process. I explore a subject, do the research necessary to support my points or opinions and then I allow my brain to communicate directly with my keyboard. A conscious attempt to write anything, a letter, poem, essay or even a paragraph results in a choppy and graceless compilation of words which, while decipherable, lack cohesion.
I am a person who will readily give my opinion of something when asked, and respect yours even if it disagrees with mine. I love to debate, to inform and persuade.
I am a person who values education (of any kind) over ignorance on any level.
I am strongly spiritual, but minimally religious. (In other words, I strongly feel that one's relationship with their God is personal and am not out to save souls)
I am a survivor of domestic violence and rape.
I am stronger than I appear to be and believe that strength is both an asset and a liability.
I am curious and adventurous-a risk taker of the nth degree, and yet I am often afraid.
I am a "Jill of all trades" having worked in most fields.
I have three sons I have raised on my own.
I am often alone but seldom lonely.
I strongly support our troops, and believe that a military power is necessary to world peace. On the other hand, I am equally strong in my opposition to how our military personnel have been used by our government.
My work resume includes carpentry, house painting, executive secretary, law clerk, college teaching assistant, steel fabricator, campaign manager, and advocate, to name just a few of my occupations.
I know that I still have a great deal to learn and am eager to learn it!

Critical thinking is a process applied when a subject is examined through the presentation of evidence and a conclusion is drawn from that examination The critical examination of issues is necessary if one is to contribute to society in a way that benefits it the most. Unfortunately, humans are not born with the ability to critically examine their environment to any extent. Critical thinking must be taught. A judgment derived from critical thinking is not an opinion, it is a judgment that has nothing to do with how one feels about the thing. For example, if one were a juror in a murder tri...
