I grew up in Lake Isabella, California (a small hick town is what most people refer to it as) and now live in La Palma, California (in Orange County). Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that emphasizes ground fighting. There are also takedowns, throws, standing submission holds (used for things such as disarming an opponent with a knife or gun) and minimal striking.
