I was born in Dalhart Tx, quiet a small little town, mostly all farmers and ranchers. I learned how to work hard and the value of a dollar young in life. We had plenty of money but was taught you did not count on what you had you counted on yourself. There has been smooth roads in my life but I have taken a few that were severly rough, they have made me who I am today and for that I have no regrets.
I take in everything around me and study it, being people, nature, and life. Those images stay in my head till I write them down, some turn out poems, some just notes on paper.
I have become the mixture of two of the most treasured people in my life, my grandma who taught me how to cherish life and my granny who taught me how to live. I owe everything I am today to them.
God is 1
he is everything I beleive
His way of life
is all I'm out to achieve.
I love nature and regard it with care
I like digging in the dirt & letting the wind blow through my hair.
And if God gives me a reason to smile just once a day
then I can get through anything come what may.
My passion is ...
NATURE
I know too much about ...
SURVIVAL
My parents always told me ...
Deal with it! So I did by writing.
My childhood ambition ...
Was simply to explore, anything!
My favorite memory ...
All the moments growing up with my Grandma in the cabin.
Why I write ...
It is my way of reaching out to others to maybe help them in some way deal with life as it is. It is also my way of staying at peace with myself and the world.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Listen to tapes of nature sounds with a guitar playing lightly in the background.
My first job ...
A farmer-rancher, where I was raised and learned to drive my first tractor at the age of nine.
My best moment ...
was learning no matter what God was on my side.
My inspiration ...
was my grandma, she wrote everyday and taught me more than most people learn in a life time about cherishing life and my granny who wrote also and taught me how to live
THE FACE OF NATURE The Face of Nature Do you see her, Do you care? Look for her For she is there! Mountains of memories Valley's of depth Land washed crevices From when she wept Emotional waterfalls Ever flowing Pouring into a river Of the unknowing Roads cut through her Having no care Failing to see That she was there The beautiful beauty You hear them say While leaving trash Along the way The Face of Nature Do you see her, Do you care? Look for her For she is there.
