People have been saying for years now that baseball needs to have a salary cap. To them, it seems like the haves in the sport have more success than the have nots. The argument you hear most often is that it would level the playing field and thus make it fairer for teams in smaller markets (i.e., Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Minneapolis-St. Paul). Now, other sports have salary caps; as a matter of fact, baseball is the only of the four major American sports to NOT have a salary cap.
