Chevron says "oil production is in decline in 33 of the 48 largest oil producing countries." If the Hubbert curve is a reasonably accurate tool for prediction of oil reserves, then it appears we may have slipped over the top of the bell curve. We may have reached peak oil. Therefore, no matter how much effort we put into discovering and recovering oil we will have decreasing returns.
