Shadows Is it shadows I chase, Waiting for something in haste? Longing endlessly... Yet when reality is sure to come Why do I stop or stall and even run? Perhaps it's the comfort of the shadows' allure Or the endless fantasies that cure An aching, an ego, a search for escape. Yet there is no healing or freedom As shadows can also trap, With illusions that seduce and confuse. There aren't colors in shadows; Only intrigue and a glimpse Of what can be...to hold and touch Momentarily or for eternity.
