I don't believe that we put enough emphasis on this subject; however, there are police departments and child protective agencies who are now working together because they now recognize the correlation.

As a child abuse advocate, mother of three adult sons, survivor of domestic violence; as well as an author who has written several books on the subject: I bring first-hand knowledge! Because I was unable to recognize it as a young mother (remember the key word is "recognize," my eldest son, who was age five at the time, was the most affected and still has problems in relationships.
