About me - Harold Sink

About me

I have lived in both Oklahoma and Texas, and currently reside in North Texas. My lifestyle is not all that strange. Currently I work at a different retailer than before. When I am not doing that I obviously write online, work on drawings or paintings, or tool around out in the yard to brush up on my gardening skills.

There are many other things I do, which are fun. Rollerblading is something I do rarely anymore, but when I remember I have them (getting old I guess) you can find me rolling around the neighborhood.

Sci-fi has always been my favorite genre of movies and television no matter how goofy, corny, or poorly rated any of it has been by others. I have been reading more lately about many things, but mostly geared towards the arts and knowledge of plants.

My friends and I get together from time to time to either play some board or card games, or just sit around at each other's home while someone grills food. Yum! I usually make the simple steak, burger or hotdogs, but have been known to grill up some yummy vegetables.

Not long after I graduated high school, knowing that I would attend college, I began to start writing a book.  Although not much came from that attempt, I had no idea that so many years later, I would be pursing some sort of writing on various subjects.  Writing for me is more of a way to get things out of my head.  Some might even call it therapeutic.  I challenge anyone to write from time to time because it does help you learn how to rethink the mess that bogs up in your head after a while.

As mentioned, acorns are quite bitter when eaten.  The tannins which makes them so bitter can be leached out through boiling the nuts.  Native Indian to North and South America...
