I am 46 years old, grew up in North Carolina and live here again after traveling around the country for years. My educational background includes a BS degree in Psychology, and I am a registered nurse. I have been an emergency room RN for 21 years and currently work in the ER of a busy uptown hospital. I also have had a life around horses, having grown up riding, showing, competing and training horses and coaching riders. I was lucky enough to ride professionally for some years. Having the opportunity to realize my dream is a blessing that I never take for granted. The dichotomy of living on beautiful farms and riding horses for a living and working in the choatic emergency room environment has been an experience that has shaped my life.

I have written a few articles for small publications, journals and magazines. Mostly I have written for myself and shared some with close friends, who give me encouragement to write more and share my writings on a broader scale. I am new to Helium, but it appears that I might have found a great place to do just that.
