I am a writer because I am a thinker. I've always been a thinker; and have never found the off switch. I get by on very little sleep and usually am in a state of perpetual go. I love the written word. Writing has always played a major role in my life. My pen grounds me. It gives me a place where I can be as loud and as ambitious as I want to be. As a child growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, I had a delivery route with both The Birmingham Times and Birmingham World Newspaper. My first article was published when I was seven years old. I won an essay contest at school and my mother, Dr. Barbara J. Thomas submitted it to The Birmingham Times Newspaper, and they printed it!
Seeing my very own byline in print was magical! Not only did I have a paper route .... But I had also become a writer for the local newspaper! While writing has never been my primary occupation, it has always been central to my life. Throughout my corporate career in business and as a successful entrepreneur, I've consistently used the art of communication to evolve my endeavors. I guess you can say I've always had two jobs. Writing has run parallel to all of my varied career pursuits. People tell me that I am a good writer...that I have a way with words. I've even heard that my writing is poetic. I like to tell stories, write narratives and write countless lines of description. I've also been described as incredibly imaginative. Personally, I think I am astute and analytical. I appreciate the background as much as the foreground. I describe my writing style as informative, well-written, historically important, provocative, much needed analysis, compelling and thought provoking. I'd like to think that I possess excellent editorial balance. Whenever I accomplish positive results with my words, I am satisfied and feel that I have contributed in some small way, to increasing human understanding. Writing is a blessing.
I've freelanced as a writer, sports & entertainment reporter, published my own news-magazine, produced television and radio shows, authored books, served as a magazine editor & a news bureau chief, syndicated content, appeared as an expert on entertainment shows to discuss various pop-culture topics and have secured media opportunities for myself and my clients which span the entertainment, sports and business sectors. I currently live in Atlanta with my two children. They too love the written word!

Let's drop the twisted sister routine! It's the dirty little secret of sisterhood. In our supposedly enlightened and evolved working world, where women have more power than ever, something is lurking that we don't even want to whisper about. It's so sinister and subversive (for some; though others actually gleefully boast about it!) that when it's brought up, it's met with outright denial. It is the backstabbing and betrayal perpetrated against women - by women. Instead of supporting each other, we're sabotaging each other. And, maybe most disheartening of all is that as more females are r...
