About me - Kennedy Malone

About me

Hello all,

My name is Kennedy. I'm a freelance writer and marketing consultant in Atlanta; I joined Helium to encourage, inform and build the self-esteem of others. My real-life titles include or have included: mother, wife, friend, sister, aunt, mentor, teacher and motivational speaker. My background is in Marketing & Public Relations.

A few things about me: I'm a simplistic, practical type of chic; I try to live by the old adage; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". If there's a problem, let's stay focused on finding a solution.

You can usually find me at the bookstore in the self-help, travel, cooking, spirituality or health & fitness aisles. I have absolutely no interest in anything fiction based, my reality is way too exciting to waste time on anyone else's make believe. That's not to discredit all of the talented fiction writers in the world but non-fiction is just a matter of preference for me.

I typically write about my "real life" experiences no matter how embarrassing they may be. If I haven't gone through it personally I was probably in the room while someone else did. My advice, opinions and recommendations are meant to edify the soul and enhance the quality of life.

Take it from someone who knows; I dealt with peer pressure on every level while in school. Peer pressure and self esteem go hand-in-hand. There are so many ways to look at this and so much that could be said on the subject but to stay on target with what I know for sure; people (children as well as adults) who feel valuable and KNOW who they are, are less likely to follow the crowd & adhere to peer pressure. Think about a person that you may have gone to school or worked with; you know that arrogant one that feels they are ALWAYS right, the one that walks around chest puffed out, nose in t...
