I'm a 30-something yr. old wife and mother/step-mother. My daughter, still a toddler, is the love of my life.  Although I have no formal training, I like to write. It's a very therapeutic outlet for me and, besides music, I believe it's saved my life.

I can't get her out of my mind. It's the woman who is living the life that I thought for so long I was destined to live. Right now, she's waiting for his foot to hit the step. My husband's foot did hit the step tonight. I will crawl into bed beside him and listen to him breathing, and know that she is trying to remember what that sounds like. She will sleep with his pillow and hope his smell doesn't fade too quickly. She will wake up tomorrow and look into her baby son's eyes and know it's the only part of him she has left.
