My name is Cara, I'm 24 years old, and I'm the mother of a 2 year old. I'm a transplanted New Yorker and was raised mostly in Florida.
I started writing about 1997/1998. I remember my first journal entry was when I was in 7th grade. I have, so far, only finished one short story and a bunch of poems. I have way too many ideas for different stories that I get distracted by them all, plus the mundane reality of day to day living and living paycheck to paycheck. Ah, the joys of stark reality.
My Mother recently passed away (8/19/1955 - 4/15/2007) and she has been my rock my whole life. Without her, I would be nothing. I want to dedicate everything to her. Mommy, I love you.
My boyfriend, Ryan, and my son, Matthew, are what keep me going. Love you guys. =)
My passion is ...
my family, and writing.
I know too much about ...
roleplaying on mIRC, which is something of an addiction of mine. As a chatting friend once put it, "mIRC, the multiplayer notepad." - Waffleskates
My parents always told me ...
"I love you."
My childhood ambition ...
was to never grow up. That's when you forget how to have fun.
My favorite memory ...
is when I was in the hospital having my c-section and my Mommy was there to comfort me. She was with me when I had my son.
Why I write ...
Without writing, there is no passion. I need it to bleed onto paper (or pc screen) because it heals the soul and I love it.
My first job ...
was pretty much a disaster. I worked at Winn Dixie as a stock clerk during the morning weekend hours. The problem with this is that I have never been a morning person. Though I did learn that quite extensively.
My best moment ...
Every moment is a gift. To quote e. e. cummings, "for life is not a paragraph / And death, i think, no parenthesis."
My inspiration ...
is mostly the strength I see in others overcoming odds. Then I realize that I'm doing the same thing, and it shocks me.
