About me

Welcome to "A Derbyshire Dreamer", as the name implies, I am Derbyshire(UK.) born and bred.I started writing quite recently following illness.Although I had always been an avid reader,I had never written anything myself until I came across an internet site on which Judy Karbritz was a moderator
Through the encouragement I received, from her, a whole new world has opened for me.
It is to that Moderator, I give my sincerest thanks.
Thank you,Judy.
Born in 1950,educated first at Clowne Junior School, then at Shirebrook Grammer School, I am a typical example of The Baby Boomer Generation.A spell in the Army was followed by various jobs, ending with 25 years service with St. Gobain Pipelines.
Writing takes up much of my time, Though I also enjoy photography and gardening. My 18 month old grand-daughter is also a joy and certainly keeps Grandpa on his toes!
Researching my family tree is also proving fascinating.

The man must have heard my footfalls, for he turned and asked. "Hello, who's that?" peering into the darkness that surrounded his oasis of light. I stepped, hesitantly forward, now he could see me, a child of twelve, wandering alone in the night....
