: About Me

   Hello and welcome to Helium, the writer's world.

   My full name is Kristan Vaassen and I am a 39 year old step mother of 4 children

ages 13-20.

   I am remarried to my soul mate. We have been married for five years and together

for 8 years.

   Writing is a wonderful form of expression for me and an outlet as well.

Writing about love, romance and relationships is extremely easy for me. I guess

that has to do with the fact that dating almost seemed to be a "hobby" for me in my

teen years until my 20's. With the view of becoming a traditional housewife and

living the American dream, which in college, they tell us is a married couple, a dog

and 2.5 children. I've never been able to understand how you can have .5 of a child.

At 24 I got married and at 27 I got divorced. I am truly blessed to have my "knight

and shining armor" in my life whom I had the pleasure of marrying on March 22,

2006. 

   We lived in a home that was built in the early 1900's and has all of character of

that  era including beautiful woodwork.  We recently suffered a fire at this residence

and currently are residing in an effeciency apartment in a small town nearby.   We

will begin to rebuild our home this Spring and Summer.
  

   We also have started a recycling and reclamation business, "Vaassen 

Reclamation" and we refinish wooden items, restore other items and recycle and in

respect making the earth a greener place to live.

   I love life, beauty and watching things grow, this to me means new life. I am dog

lover and have two grown dogs and two puppies. An avid business owner of

Vaassen Reclamation, LLC and a step-mom and wrote/, I am kept very busy. I

always have time for writing! It is one of my dearest passions.

   Enjoy Helium. It is a wonderful place to write. Writing is a beautiful way to express

yourself. Don't ever stop writing!

I am blessed by your kind words as they soak into my heart your words take some of the hurt and pain away as I know I am no longer alone "People out there care, you said." I believe you are right God sent me sent you I am blessed to know you no matter where our friendship may lead us When life tries to get you down remember how much you have blessed others with your words and kindness when you cared and no one else took the time too My new friend, you too will be blessed God sees everything you know He will not forget you He will bless you
