Hi, I'm Debbie. I am an avid reader of various genres from mysteries, procedurals, horror, short stories, and poetry. I am a big fan of Asian cinema, particularly Hong Kong action and Japanese horror. I am an occasional gamer but I veer towards mostly simulation games. And of course, I like to write. I generally write short stories but am currently working on two novels. I graduated from NYU with a BA in English and a specialization in Creative Writing. I attended Rutger Law School by accident for a year. When I came to my senses, I joined the workforce in various administrative capacities. Update: My new incarnation is now as an editor/writer of a business publishing firm/news organization. This is a little experiment for me. I love to review things on Amazon.com and thought this may be a lot of fun! In a previous incarnation, I was known as Debbie Brown, a special education advocate.

Why I write ...
Wow, what a question. I'm not really sure what drives me. I have been writing stories since I was 10. When I went to college, I discovered you can actually write stories and get college credit! I proceeded to pump out a short story every day for four years. I love words. I like to play with them.

I am inspired by reading great writing. I am inspired by other writers. I am inspired by things I see.
Growing in up in New York City allowed me to have dim sum almost every weekend in Chinatown. It was always a cause for excitement. It is a complete full on sensory experience. Arriving at the restaurant, there is the din of the crowd waiting for tables. There is always a crowd in front of a Chinese restaurant on the weekend just after noon. You take a number and wait. If your party is large, you will be seated at a private table. If you are alone or with a smaller party, you may be seated with complete strangers. But not to worry, they will not bother you. They are far too busy eating! The...
