I consider myself a renaissance man, my wife however uses a different term for it...something along the lines of someone with too many @#*!& hobbies. I went to recording school and worked as a Recording Engineer at a studio in NYC. Then I got a degree in Anthropology and worked as an archaeologist for three years. Sounds exciting, but paid camping and recording lithic scatter after lithic scatter for state agencies to get rich off of public land sales with huge Christmas bonuses gets a little depressing.
While doing all this I also found time to work as an automobile painter- something I have always gone back to between jobs because of the decent money involved. I enjoy writing and composing music, leather carving, watercolor painting and spending any free time with my wife and 8 month old daughter.
My absolute dream job would have to be a novelist, I have been working on a book project for a year now and I would love to finish it and try to become an established writer someday. Hopefully I can achieve this one, and if not, hopefully find my niche in life...or at least another hobby...sorry honey.
I believe that there is a useful analogy for determining whether or not someone was meant to ride a motorcycle.
