Having taken early retirement, I'm rather fortunate to now have a job which allows me to travel eight to ten months of each year. I work as a tour manager for a travel company, taking tours through several countries in South East and Central Asia. Between tours there are often opportunities for research, or to travel independently rather than return home.
Apart from my company tour reports I like to write travel stories using various themes, such as: A Search for the Illusive Tasmanian Tiger (Example). Generally I do something slightly out of the ordinary in a travel sense and then write about it. My writing is fun for me and just a hobby. I have never tried to sell an article, or story.
Ledbury is the small town I return too when I eventually get back home to the UK. It is a delightful market town nestling close to The Malvern Hills, that is where you will generally find me between 6/7am every morning when I'm at home.

Imagination and other stuff! Part one OK now here’s a question for you stuff buffs! “Are we really the only creature on this planet with the analytical ability to imagine?” An interesting, debatable question to start off with! Personally I think many of our fellow creatures, not totally reliant on nature may require basic imagination to hunt, or avoid being caught (examples), although one could argue that these skills may have evolved along with them on their evolutionary journey, therefore hunting in packs, or cunningly escaping a pursuer (examples again) maybe perfectly...
