Hello there fellow Helium writers! What can i say about myself that doesn't sound old and cliche? As you can tell by the picture on the side here... i am a father (single father) to an angel of a 7 year old daughter. I work full time in the Loss Prevention field and I'm a DJ part time... and i write in my spare time. One day perhaps I'll write a real book vs. articles or short stories or blogs. I served my country for 8 years in the U.S. ARMY... so needless to say i support our troops with every fiber of my being, maybe not the commander and chief i think he's a dork who doesn't have a clue. Thats all beside the point though.
Any way, writing for me; as I'm sure it is with most people, is an outlet for dreams, aspirations as well as our intimate thoughts and failures. I write to express my opinions, my thoughts, my problems with society and my triumphs in life. Its an opportunity for one brief moment to let the world into MY world. Writing allows me to forget about my problems for a little while and focus on something else.
Well there isn't much else to say about me. I work hard and i play harder! So until i hit the lottery... Love, peace and hair grease to all!

He was standing there in his class A uniform behind a long folding table with the U.S. ARMY flag hanging behind him. I can recall looking at him as he stood speaking to students about the benefits of enlisting into the military. I was immediately struck with an epiphany in that moment. His e...
