The simplest, most obvious answer is that angry, unhappy children have angry, unhappy parents. And I'm not just referring to parents who are overtly unhappy and angry, such as those suffering from severe depression or who constantly lash out aggressively towards their children. I'm also referring to many typical parents in our modern society, who are, say, unhappy with their jobs and the long hours they have to spend away from home.
