I've been writing ever since I can remember-the first book I penned being "The Fish & Mr. President" or at least something very similar and equally as catchy-a brilliant title from a 5 year-olds perspective at least. Not that I've penned any books since, but maybe someday...

Anyway, I'm so glad there are websites out here that encourage those that need the encouragement, the exposure, the practice. I'm currently a freelance communications consultant and journalist but sometimes find I need an outlet to share my writing when my job takes me in other directions. I also write for various websites here and there but this is just fun and easy, not many requirements, no deadlines, just writing what I want to write about.

I love classic literature as well as current amazing authors such as Frances Mayes and Adriana Trigiani. However, since I've been a Mom, I've found it hard to read like I'd like to. Example: I've been reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, A Year in the World by Frances Mayes and re-reading Great Expectations for about 6 months now! Maybe if I chose just one of those, I could finish it! But as the saying goes, "So many books, so little time..."

My other passions/interests include animals, vegetarianism, travel, running, music, photography, environmentalism, and skiing-water and snow. However, I'll take water anyday as there is no season like Summer! But I do love living in the Northwest as all the four seasons are incredible. And the loves of my life are my kiddos who have taught me more about love than I ever thought there was. If parenthood doesn't inspire one to write about the beauty of life and all it's abundance, I don't know what would.

So that's it for me. I'm a little nervous putting all this out there as I'm not a member of the "Y" generation that want everyone and their dog to know how I spend every waking minute (no offense, but I don't get it!), but I think what I've shared is fairly harmless...
