I am just a girl who loves to read and write. I have a BA in English from Meredith College, but I've never used the degree in my career! It helps with freelancing, but I majored in English because of my love of words. Words really are sharper than a two-edged sword. With them you can cut or build, drag down or lift up. Words evoke emotion. When used properly, they expound knowledge. That's my goal here: To use words.

How many times have you heard the phrase "we live in a dog-eat-dog world"? Too many, I'd wager. What is someone really saying when they use that phrase?
