I am an average guy. I work in an office. I drive a "well-used" SUV. I have a beautiful new wife. I love my kids with all my heart. I have a few good friends, and I try to spend time with them when I can. I have dreams, goals, regrets, frustrations and opinions. I'm a Conservative on some issues and a Liberal on others. I'm a Veteran, and I support our troops. I want them home soon, but I don't want them to leave the job unfinished. I would like World Peace, but I'm not delusional enough to think it's actually possible. I'm not a violent man, but I can be pushed to violence just like anyone else. I'm a Christian, but I'm humble enough to know that God has many names and guises, and that no single religion has it ALL correct. I think the Police are doing a pretty good job with the tools they have. I think the word "racism" is a misnomer, and it breeds the very hate and mistrust it's subscribers oppose. I think there is one race, and we're all in this together. I don't think anyone deserves a free ride. I think people who are down need a hand up, not a hand out. I believe in ghosts. I think reading is the most important skill a person can have. I think fitness is important, but it shouldn't rule your life, unless it's your vocation. I am a connoisseur of good food (though "good" to me may not be "good" to you). Beer is awesome and makes me feel fine. I'm a native of California, and have lived many years there, among MANY other places. But I am a recent transplant to Wisconsin, and I love it here. My ancestors were from many different countries and continents (including this one), but I am first and foremost an AMERICAN. Anything else is just a label. I'm not physically attracted to men, but I don't begrudge those who are, and I'm open-minded enough to recognize when a man could be considered "attractive." I read too much about imaginary worlds sometimes, but they tend to be more enjoyable than this one.
But most of all I am a brain, a jock, a basket case, a princess and a criminal.
(Ok, so I'm not a "princess" but you get the reference, right?)

First of all, there is no such thing as a "fair fight" in a relationship. If you and your significant other have gotten to the point where voices are raised, and irrational emotions have taken over from calm reasoning, you both lose. That being said, it is inevitable that there will be disagreements. However, if you both keep in mind that you are not opponents, but partners, things can remain rational, and you will often find that you really have nothing to fight about. Most domestic arguments boil down to misconceptions, lack of disclosure, and a false sense that your partner is "out to g...
