Welcome!
I've been a compulsive writer since I was a kid. In adult life, I've been regularly submitting articles to the UK-based magazine "Astronomy Now". Astronomy is a life-long passion, but I don't spend very nights under the skies these days, thanks to my two young kids!
I worked for a university for 18 years, and recently took voluntary severance. This has been a good idea! I've turned professional photographer, and my aerial work can be seen at www.pixaerial.com More general work is at www.fotonix.co.uk
Well, I'm somone who's done just this, after 18 years of serving an employer I hated for just as long! Firstly, what are the circumstances of your leaving 'normal' paid employment? If, like me, you have the option of a voluntary severance, then you may well be able to negotiate your way to a considerable 'loss of office' financial settlement. Depending on where you work and live, this could be several tens of thousands of dollars. Clearly, this will provide a hugely-valuable 'saftey net', or add to your business start-up capital. If you're simply bored, then it's probably best you keep you...
