I write, because I Am.
Born in England but currently residing in Canada, I was born to British/Polish-Romanian Gypsy parents. I have lived on three continents, speak English, Japanese and French, a bit of German and Spanish. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English/Drama/Film, have studied Homeopathy, Reflexology, Pranic Energy Healing, Pre-Med. Sciences, various languages and some Land Use Planning (weird, I know.) I am embarking on a second degree in Psychology/Women & Aboriginal Studies. Learning is a lifetime endeavour.
Writing is a discipline and as such, I write daily. As I run, meditate and practice Bellydancing daily, this is balanced carefully with marriage to fabulous man that I've known since I was 14, two daughters, a dog and two rats. Until recently I had a horse.
We live on a 128 acre farm, in the Georgian Bay area, ON., where we grow non-genetically modified, pesticide & herbicide-free vegetables, pigs, eggs and chickens. I LOVE to cook.
I am also bound to my land. I have a condition called Systemic Mastocytosis, which basically means I know firsthand about anaphylaxis and being physically uncomfortable. No longer able to work in the 'real world' due to the severity of my 'triggers' (latex, nickel, various foods and polyethylene being among the most severe and life-threatening) I have been learning to reinvent life for myself within the parameteres of this disease. This means I am no longer able to drive, shop, go anywhere public, go anywhere that hasn't been carefully screened, and am no longer able to travel (which if you're a Gypsy is REALLY hard to let go of.) This disease is far reaching, and as I've had to learn, is real. It is a relatively unknown disease, there is currently no cure for it and I am not alone in dealing with it. If I'm not careful it will kill me. And, I have too much writing to get done for that.
Helium.com is a fabulous forum for reading the works of other inspiring writers, writers who are learning their art, and for me to share some of the things that I've been learning in life. Reinventing my life on the internet, through words and learning through your words, is vital to my growth as a Human Being, and for that, I am grateful.

As is true for all sentient Beings, Reiki is capable of providing for children the same basic healing benefits it offers to adults. The five tenants of Reiki are embedded in these benefits: a) a sense of well-being ("do not worry") b) comfortable receiving energy & open to being well or healed ("trust") c) a sense of personal calm & thankfulness ("do not anger" & "gratitude") d) a sense of personal wellness ("respect and be kind to yourself and your neighbour") Reiki claims to be able to heal any and all ailments; as well as to do no harm. If adults, as sentient Beings, are cap...
