I have recently been described by the local press as a "Not so serious serial killer" which is an odd name for a stay at home mother of 2 until you find out that I write murder mystery games for a living!
I began selling murder mystery games as an author-partner with Host-party.com in spring 2006, and in 2007, on the strength of the sales, I negotiated a partnership with a local website company to form Red-Herring-Games.co.uk where I now also mentor new mystery game authors.
By profession I am an Occupational Therapist specialising in stroke care and worked in the NHS from 1997 to 2004 when I left to have my first child. I am 31 years of age, married and presently have two children under four.
My passion is ...
Cooking. I really enjoy entertaining and experimenting with food.
I know too much about ...
I am always learning, I don't think you CAN know too much about anything. I love it when I research for a new project - it is amazing the the stuff you pick up as you go.
My parents always told me ...
Don't pick your nose... Be nice to your sister... if the wind changes you'll stay like that... No... - yep I think "no" featured heavily - doesn't it always?
My childhood ambition ...
I never really had one. After moving a lot as a child my main ambition was always to make the next close friend.
My favorite memory ...
My daughter being laid on my chest after she was born - there really is nothing to compete with it.
Why I write ...
I can't help myself. I can't stop either. I have a vivid imagination and always seem to have one part of me in reality and one part in my next project or six.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I love reading, sci-fi and thrillers. I watch murder mysteries - and try to solve them before the investigator - doesnt' everyone? I also make time for the bible everyday.
My first job ...
Discounting mucking out chickens on the family run farm and taking the tourists around, then you could say my first job was working at a launderette. (I got turned down as a chamber maid as apparently I didn't have enough experience, despite mucking out the chickens and helping with the cleaning for a family of 8.)
My best moment ...
Well I suppose the day I turned up on my boyfriend's door wearing nothing but a swimtsuit, face mask and flippers. (and yes he proposed that weekend!)
My inspiration ...
My life experiences to date, and the constant need to get what is in my head - out of it!
