The meaning of life is to pursue your dreams and have a hell of a good time doing it.
About me? I'm an 18-year-old first-year at the University of Texas at Austin. I was born in Fort Worth, developed cataracts and had my lenses surgically removed at age 2 (my greatest acheivement thus far), nearly made the cut to be part of the cast for Barney (the deaf kid beat me out of it), did a ton of things that I'm proud of and have great meaning to me that would simply bore you to tears of utter pity, had artificial lenses implanted at age 9, watched as both of my parents get remarried (more Christmas fun for me!), moved to Vermont for two years where I became a ski instructor in the 8th grade, moved back to another Dallas area locale, made it through High School by the skin of my teeth while participating in band, Academic Decathlon, National Honors Society, and founding several clubs. I was admitted to UT Austin pending Summer semester, and now here I am.
My passion is ...
Astronomy. Well, no...hold on. It might be my girlfriend. Star Trek, maybe?
I know too much about ...
Some of my friends and close family members. Why did they feel the need to tell me those things?
My parents always told me ...
To get out more. I guess it didn't work...I've spent 89 of the last 91 hours in my dorm room. Actually, 90.5 of those 91 hours were spent entirely in my dorm building.
My childhood ambition ...
was to be a fighter pilot. I now have a horrendous fear of death and an eye problem that lets me black out easily.
My favorite memory ...
is difficult to remember at the moment. Nothing's coming to me.
Why I write ...
To assist with the destruction of stupidity.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
START WEARING PURPLE- Gogol Bordello. I recommend it.
My first job ...
was amidst hundreds of girls a year older than me playing volleyball in short shorts. Yes, I had fun. They were sad when I left, too. Good deal.
My best moment ...
is hopefully yet to come.
My inspiration ...
is the fact that I know that everything we do on this planet is, in the end, meaningless.
Being an 18-year-old college student that's watched Star Trek from birth, is majoring in Astronomy, built his own high-end computer from scratch, and has done everything else remotely associated with being a geek/nerd/social outcast, I can tell you first-hand that there are endless advantages to building your own computer. Below is a list of reasons I've encountered since building my own over a year ago. • Complete Control of Features and Price: When you build your own computer, you get to choose everything that goes into it. You're not limited to the myopic list of corporately-s...
