Raised in a farming family in the south of England with my kite-tail of sisters, I couldn't wait to 'leave the croft'. I yearned for a life in engineering, and that's what I've had; with a healthy spread of odd pastimes to soften the evenings and weekends.

Regarding bikers as being among the most trustworthy, I married one, and we've been blessed with three challenging kids. I only ride to and from the saltmine nowadays; I'm too busy with family, writing, radio, music and being a Sea Cadet instructor. I'm a Petty Officer, and teach communications.
I have studied electronics, physics, applied mathematics, electronic device physics, quality control, quality assurance, technical writing, goatkeeping and Welsh language in tertiary education. I have read extensively on a large range of other subjects from astronomy to Zen, and consider myself a self-marinated polymath.
