This is a complex and interesting debate, and one where the answer is far from clear. What do we know? We know that the inhalation of tabacco smoke is dangerous, and potentially fatal. We know that some people smoke, and enjoy doing so. Furthermore, we know that people like to smoke in public - in a bar, for example. These people presumably know (from health warnings on the packs if nothing else) that they are endangering themselves. But we also know that for non-smokers, who may have no choice but to inhale the smoke, may not wish to take such a large risk.
