I'm a mother of four and live in beautiful, tropical Cairns, Queensland, Australia. I adore sunshine, colour and the spectacular variety that occurs when rainforest meets ocean.
A Social Worker by career, I have devoted my professional, personal and ethical life to protecting children from sexual assault. I am a protective behaviour consultant and am in LOVE with my job.
Although I professionally write to right the ills perpetrated against children, I also like to pen about purely sensual things from time to time: nature, flora, fauna, rainforest and sea.
And so I come to Helium, to provide a little more of the uplifting gas that allows us all to view beauty from above rather than staring ugliness in the face.
Combining chocolate, books, a keypad and my own tropical environ, I have recently had my first junior fiction chapter book published: "Bitss of Caramel Marmalade on Toast." A toasty book for a "don't turn the light off yet Mum" read, its jungle life metaphors are designed to gently help children and parents talk about the savage issues of bullying and abuse.
Social, committed and angry at what some predatory adults do to children, I look forward to writing in a bibliotheraputic voice.

Why I write ...
I write to right the ills by raising consciousness. I write bright pieces to keep me sane.
