: About Me

I spent most of my adult life in academia: I was a Professor in the Department of Biology and the University of Miami during the 1990s after completing my education at the University of Illinois. I also spent two years at the University of Oregon as a postdoc. My field is evolutionary biology and population genetics. I decided to leave the field in 2002 to pusue other interests, which have included the study of national economic policy and politics. I have become quite involved in the Democratic Party here in Georgia.

My writing interests are quite varied and I plan to expand them over time. I look forward to hearing from anyone with similar interests. I hope you enjoy my articles.
