I was born in Oakland, California and my Dad took me to Texas quickly at nine days old to get away from my alcoholic mother. I have been in Texas the rest of my 42 years.
Most of my life I have lived on a farm or in some form of country or rural living. I lived in the big city of Austin, Texas for a while. There, I was a night time cab driver. (ANYONE WANTING TO HELP ME PUBLISH A BOOK ABOUT FEMALE NIGHT TIME CAB DRIVERS, EMAIL ME llongoria@gvtc.com. I'M LOOKING TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT IT). I plan on writing a story about my 2 year adventures as a female night time cabby. My cab career ended when a drunk driver T-boned me and flipped my cab and it hit a telephone pole.
I have overcome many hardships in my life and have remained strong through them all. God has been there every step of the way for me.
For instance, I was raped at 8 years old. Abused by my mother, (yes, my Mother & Father remained together, and are still together), survived many car trips with a drunk mother, locked in closets, cheated on by my little sister & husband, sexually physically & mentally abused by my ex-husband.
Not once did I turn to alcohol to fix my problems, but faced them one at a time with courage. What hurt me, actually made me stronger. I am a survivor. I beat cancer.
I am now a happily married woman with two beautiful granddaughters and living next to my Dad on our family farm in the country.
My Daddy has always been my strength, and my mentor. I loved him at birth and will love him until the day we go to the great beyond and then even into infinity.
