About me - K. Russell

About me

Born in Upstate New York, I have moved more times than I can count, gaining a wealth of experiences along the way. Writing and teaching have always been a part of my life. People tell me I "make them think" and reevaluate their choices. As the sign in the Children's Academy workout room stated, "Just because something is difficult, doesn't make it the wrong choice."

Children's Academy was the private K-12 school I created for at-risk students and the "walking wounded". It was a great success, both for me and my students, but it had to be closed due to my divorce. Someday I hope to reopen it...

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Washington and a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University.

I have published special interest articles, a weekly book review, website content, nearly 2,000 SEO content articles online, training scripts, brochures, poetry, and two, as yet unpublished, books.

I now make my living as a writer, which is another dream come true.

Married to my best friend and mother to two beautiful, intelligent, and grown children, my life is full and happy.

Fitting In Nearly all college students have concerns about fitting in, feeling accepted, and finding their place in college culture. Add to those natural concerns the fact that the adult student is significantly older than their peers and some anxieties can occur. Finding social groups with shared int...
