I am a single mom of two girls and we reside in Portage Indiana. After the birth of my youngest daughter, I was afflicted with an unknown condition that left me paralyzed from the waist down. As a result, I went from being financially stable, to become dependent on my family and community. Over the years, I not only have had to learn to walk and regain independence, but I have learned some valuable lessons about humility, generosity, and spiritual strength.
My writings reflect my struggles and observations on a personal, spiritual, and social level.
I have a love for the theater, scrap booking, and for the unconventional. My motto: "Don't just think outside of the box...throw the box away!"

She handled her illness with a level of dignity and grace that I wish I had. This passage was written by her a little over a year before her death, November 30, 1950. It was sealed until after she died, when it was read to her family and friends, and published in a local newspaper. I had it re-published about four years ago on Mother's Day.
