Who is more responsible for the excess of abandoned or sheltered dogs? Breeders. Look at the type of dogs in the shelter, or rather the ones that are euthanized in the shelters; dogs one or more years old that are out of the puppy stage. Their owners abandon most dogs because after "puppy hood" the dog is not compatible with the owner's lifestyle. This is not souly the owners fault, in fact, it is mainly the lack of responsibility of the breeder. Dogs are not merchandise, and should not be sold.
