As a child, I was seen as a youngster who had a great deal of potential. As an adolescent, however, I was seen as a "high potential low achiever." One of my favorite slogans was, "We strive for mediocrity."
Sounds a bit dismal, but actually, I have always been "cursed" with creativity. Little did I know (until age 50) that ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) was also part of my curse. I never quite understood why I had so many varied interests, why I became almost obsessively involved in projects, but never finished them.
At age 59, after having a plethora of various jobs, I am now retired from one career and engaged in a new one as a substitute teacher for a dozen elementary schools. In the past, I have been a private investigator, clergyman, writer, editor, publisher, photographer, web site designer, magician, clown, hypnotist, draftsman, and much more. My other interests have ranged from collecting comic books to Cowboy Action Shooting to psychic research to theater to ventriloquism. I have even studied five languages!
I have always had a passion for writing, so I look forward to sharing my passion with the Helium Community.
