I had the pleasure to witness a soccer game of colossal magnitude yesterday. I have been brought up on soccer or 'football' as we call it in the UK. It seems reasonable to call the game 'football' as it is the part of the body most in contact with the ball. Of course the fact that a game steeped in history and invented so long ago did not stop America from stealing the name and maybe hoping for the same fame, which did not transpire of course. Then again God Save the Queen was stolen also but that is a different matter. At least it will be sung correctly at St Johns Cathedral Jacksonville ...
