I am a 59+2-year-old writer, living in St. Louis, Missouri where I grew up. I graduated with a B.A in English and Government from Cornell University in 1968 and went on to finish Law School at the University of Michigan in 1974. Fortunately, when I found studying law boring and unfulfilling and chose not to practice, I instead followed my heart and become a happy teacher and writer.
I taught every grade from 3rd through 8th as well as Creative Writing in Adult Education but was mostly a middle-school English and Social Studies teacher. I enjoyed the kids immensely; I could have done with a lot less of the administrative bureaucracy.
I also became a free-lance writer. I started writing songs on my guitar in 1971 like every good child of the Sixties was doing and have written about 35 (unsold) songs altogether. I wrote a children's musical play that was published in a Yale Drama School Journal and has been performed by middle-school children in three different venues which was my crowning achievement!
In 1984, I began writing articles for newspapers and small magazines, but by 2003, when an illness interfered, I decided to stop submitting material though I continue to write whenever my muse insists. Sitting at the computer, typing away, is still one of my most enjoyable pastimes.
I play tennis once or twice a week for exercise and have a fairly broad circle of friends to keep me occupied. I am still looking for "Ms. Permanent Right" but have given up on Online Dating. I'm waiting for the Heavens to place Her next to me on a park bench or some other unexpected spot. Some things you just have to leave to Chance.

Three Pink Roses 2006 I could tell that Nikki was very bright, and I thought she was an attractive little girl whom others just didn't appreciate. She had olive skin and a cute smile that gave her face a special look when she seemed happy-if only she could have been happy more often. She even had a quick sense of humor. In short, I liked her from the start. The start was an all-day Saturday Meditation Training nearly thirty years ago. Her mother had brought Nikki along, probably because there was no one else to take care of her all day. She was only eleven, but I didn't think she needed an...
