I'm a retired city of Pittsburgh firefighter. I am 57 years old, and happily married for 37 years. I am father to a daughter and 3 sons. My daughter has blessed me with 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. I am a born again Christian, and my wife and I attend a bible preaching Baptist church.Despite my article about my cottage experience with my family, we actually get along quite well. Water under the dam.I am obsessed with golf, which I took up at the late age of 49. I was fortunate enough to retire at 55, my good fortune being a wife willing to stall her retirement for a few years, as she realized that I could no longer do my job anymore and I was going to hurt myself if I kept doing it.I served 4 years in the navy, and 5 years in the Pa.air national guard.I then worked as a firefighter for 31 years.I am now a stay at home husband, trying to do as good a job as my wife did for 30 years.

No reason, no injury, no illness, just a lump. Of course, in this age of the Internet, I googled my symptoms and self diagnosed what the lump meant. Three possibilities, all of them cancer. How lucky can a guy get? I was going to have either lung or stomach cancer, or Hodgkin's. Secretly, I was hoping for the Hodgkin's, but unfortunately I didn't get to choose. That was the extent of being my own DOCTOR. Of course...
